VMware Migration Nightmare

A Friend's Tale

I recently spoke with a friend who's been going through a nightmare of a VMware migration for the school district he works for. He's been in the IT trenches for years, but nothing has prepared him for the sheer chaos of this process.

According to him, it's like trying to navigate a maze blindfolded, with a ticking clock and a horde of angry users breathing down his neck. Broadcom, the parent company of VMware, is clearly banking on the high cost of migration to keep their customers locked in. They've made the process as painful as possible, with seemingly endless hurdles and obstacles at every turn.

Just to give you an idea of the workload, my friend has had to put in countless hours of off-hours work to migrate their virtual servers. He's personally racked up 34 hours of overtime in just two weeks. And that's just the beginning. He estimates he'll need a total of 80 hours of overtime to complete the migration.

The stress is overwhelming. He feels like he's constantly on the verge of a breakdown. Every day brings new challenges, from technical issues to dealing with frustrated users. And don't even get me started on VMware's customer service. It's like trying to reach a ghost – impossible!

To add insult to injury, VMware had the audacity to send them a simple Google form to submit their migration request. It was as if they wanted to make the process as painless as possible for them, while adding to their frustration.

And let's not forget the ridiculous timeframe they were given – just six months to complete this massive migration. It's like trying to build a skyscraper in a week.

My friend is at his wit's end. He's never experienced such a stressful and chaotic process. It's clear that VMware is more interested in lining their pockets than providing a smooth and efficient migration experience.

If you're considering migrating away from VMware, be prepared for a long, arduous journey. It's a battle against the Goliath of IT, and the odds are stacked against you. BUT, we can help!
